These grinders have settings so you can select the exact coarseness or fineness of your grind. They grind consistently and, while more expensive, are highly recommended for espresso. Blade grinders have a single blade that spins like a propeller and do not have grind settings. The longer you grind, the finer the grind is, so you need to eye-ball it. Blade grinders do an adequate job for drip coffee, but are not recommended for espresso or coffee drinks. Blade coffee grinders are extremely cost-effective if you are willing to make the trade off. Some blade grinder brands include Braun, Bodum coffee grinders, Capresso and Cusinart.
