There are thermal craft coffee makers for those who want their coffee to stay warm all day. Then there are glass craft coffee makers that allow you to see how much coffee is remaining, but must sit on a warming plate all day. After you have determined what kind of craft you will require then it is time to choose how you want to brew your coffee. There are drip cofffee makers that are the most common in most households. Drip coffee makers do most of the work and are very efficent. Vacuum style coffee maker has been in exsistence since 1840. There are two seperate glass containers stacked on top of eachother. The coffee is brewed in the upper container by heating the water in the lower container to boiling. This type of brewing takes a little more effort but produces a great cup of coffee. Stovetop brewing is also popular with the brewing taking place in the same container with the final product ending up in the lower pot. This meathod makes a small amount of coffee and takes some practice to get it just right. And finally, there is the French press. The grounds and water are placed in the container and brewed together. The plunger is than pushed down to seperate the grounds from the coffee for an elegant cup of coffee.

Which ever type of coffee machine you choose, there are multipe well respected brands of coffee makers to choose from. These include Bunn, Cuisnart, Krups, Bosch and Capresso.
